Paper models
Began with cut out design then moved onto Curls, got attracted by it's natural element of paper
Was suggested to just acrylic tubes to make the light more modern and classy.
Holes were then drilled into the acrylic tubes, there was risks of cracking the acrylic but it turned
out perfectly fine. Where the holes created fastening to join the layers and the tube with clips.

Changed the original light frame, with wires and changing it's circumference.

To make the curls stable, I used heat curlers to damage the plastic structures so it can stay curled
Started off with 3 layers and all in one direction
Decided to extended to 4 layers, to cover the empty space on the tube. Also change the direction of the curls, using gravity to create more beauty.
The change of direction and layer out of the light... leading onto the final light.

  1. Nice lamp! I like the complex look of it just by simply adding curls at different positions of the lamp. As an improvement I would suggest making the centre cylinder a bit wider as the bulb may need ventilation because of the heat! Overall great design!

  2. I love your lamp! i think the design looks really classic and yet elegant, maybe for improvement, you could make the cylinder shape sharper? so that it can have a neat cylinder top and the curls at random positions that flows around it.

  3. I like the rolled strips makes it very fancy and organic. The light coming down from the lamp is pretty good as it is a perfect circle. As an improvement, i think you can play around more with various techniques beside rolled strips. Overall, i like this lamp!

  4. I like the concept of this design and its playfulness you are trying to achieve but i think that maybe some symmetry in the strips would of maybe this a bit better in it's elegancy

  5. The way your curls fall looks really nice on your lamp.you could improve it by adding more strips to cover the middle section
